NCR Comes Close, Loses to Cheverly |

 NCR faced their neighbor, Cheverly in a dual meet on Saturday, June 27th at New Carrollton. NCR was again stymied in their quest for their first win, and lost the Cheverly Dolphins 295-267 in a very close meet for their second consecutive loss. NCR will travel to West Arundel on Saturday, July 4th for their next meet.
The meet featured down-to-the-wire relay finishes and (as a high note) the 15-18 Girls swept ALL their inividual events, having at least the top three finishers and 100 Free finishing the top 7 swimmers. The Boys 13-14 swimmers also swept their 50 meter Fly for the top 3 finishers. Below are the winners from the events:
TRIPLE WINNERS
- Trevor Irish: 15-18 - Fly (29.87); Back (32.16); IM 1:12.32).
- Patrick Sheerin: 13-14 - Fly (34.88); Breast (38.71); IM (1:17.94).
- Rocky Parry: 13-14 - Fly (33.17); Breast (45.76); IM (1:27.12).
- Kendall Irish: 15-18 - Fly (31.91); Back (35.91); IM (1:15.60).
DOUBLE WINNERS
- Elizabeth Mehalick: 11-12 - Fly (47.43); IM (1:36.43).
- Daniel Lee: 11-12 - Free (41.16); IM (1:56.09).
- Emma Varner: 15-18 - Back (35.20); IM (1:15.96).
SINGLE WINNERS
Andrea Anderson 13-14 Fly (41.03); Hannah Betman 15-18 Free (1:07.75); Stephanie Goldbeck 15-18 Breast (37.40); Sarah Dunn 9-10 Back (24.48); Billy Dunn 13-14 Free (30.65). |

NCR Loses First at Adelphi |
|
The rain came and it went...it came and it went...Thunder, lightning, it was very bad on Saturday, June 20th at the Adelphi Pool. Two thirds of the meet was finished prior to being postponed, but the meet was finished on Monday, June 22nd, and it finished late.
NCR lost their first meet in the 2009 Prince Mont Swim League 330 - 207. The Adelphi Dolphins simply had the numbers, especially in the lower ages, for NCR to be as competitive as the team had hoped. But there were a few bright spots:
TRIPLE WINNER
- Elizabeth Mehalick: 11-12 - Fly (45.11); Breast (47.20); IM (1:36.53).
DOUBLE WINNERS
Rocky Parry: 13-14 - Fly (37.40); Breast (43.45).
Danny Sheerin: 15-18 - Back (32.84); IM (1:07.73).
Emma Varner: 15-18 - Back (35.20); IM (1:15.96).
SINGLE WINNERS
