Coach Hugh Harris |
I have been the Head Coach of the NCR Dolphins since 1996 when we were in Division E (39-41 since then), Over the years we worked our way up to the top of the PrinceMont Swim League, but have recently started to slide. No matter the division, I look forward to coaching our team to be the best it can possibly be.
My first year on the NCR swim team was in 1977. I swam on the team for six summers. Over the years since I left the swim team I have competed in triahalons along with completing two Ironman events. Another passion of mine is running and have finished 33 marathons and many road races over the past 20 years. Currently, I am an elementary Physical Education Teacher in Prince George’s County. I received a BS in Physical Education from Bowie State University and an MS in Athletic Administration from McDaniel College. I also coach cross country and track and file at South River High School. What I like best about the NCR swim team is the tradition we have of learning to swim, doing our best and having lots of fun. To me, every year at NCR is special in its own way. One of my favorite quotes is “Attitude is Everything.” A positive attitude leads to positive results in life. |
